A 2010 report by the National Science Board (NSB) says that foreign students on temporary visas earned 50 percent or more of all doctoral degrees awarded in engineering, physics, mathematics, and the computer sciences. The United States is just not creating enough engineers to meet the demands of the profession, and many of these jobs are going to others.
We can do better. Stern Communications is helping industry leaders in their efforts to improve outreach to the next generation of engineers, and explain that it’s where many of the jobs will be over the next few decades.
Current and past work includes:
USA Science & Engineering Festival
We worked with several major engineering organizations including the National Academy of Engineering, IEE, Lockheed Martin, and media leader Engineering.com to make this two-week series of events in Washington, DC, in October of 2010, a resounding success.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Wrote speeches for president Dr. Shirley Jackson and conducted media outreach to help promote its business school.
National Academy of Engineering
Developed products explaining its CASEE sub-group to a large network of graduate and undergraduate engineering leaders.
